I can honestly say I became a fan of E&J Brandy when I turned 21 and I started trying all these different mixed drinks. Constantly trying to find the right concoction of flavors and that nice strong bite that everybody wants with a drink. You know, medium balance but with that right Touch of flavor but I just couldn't find it.
Then I came across Steve the bartender at a local hole in the wall bar called THE CASTLE LOUNGE here in Redding California( shout out to Steve).
Guy could make anything taste good. He could put a nail in a shoe and mix it up with some vodka and olives and you would love it. I was a whiskey drinker, key word "was". One night I simply just had enough trying all the different types of whiskey. From Honey whiskey to cinnamon whiskey to special cask Rye whiskey and I'm a huge fan of Rye. After I made a comment about how fed up I was with drinking whiskey over and over, Steve reached under the counter and grabbed a bottle. What bottle you ask? A bottle of E&J XO. He proceeded to pour it straigt, slid a glass across the bar to me which landed perfectly in my open hand that I had been using and moving around to speak with. It was like something out of a James bond movie and I'll admit it made me look pretty damn cool. After that I took my first sip and nedless to say was completely hooked by it's taste, its color, it's smell and how incredibly smooth it was. Haven't gone back to whiskey ever since.

To be honest was my first drink ever at 19 didn't wait until I was 21 my older brother gave me my first sip at a house party and it was VSOP smooth taste been my drink ever since.
